Presentation

 

You should present for 8 – 10 minutes (and there will be 2 minutes for questions for a total of 12 minutes)

 

The presentation should feel conversational, so DO NOT READ your notes.  You should rehearse the presentation so that you are confident (but also so that it feels conversational).

 

Use lots of visual images

 

-what was your question and why?

            What animal did you study (note that the Genus is capitalized and italicized   and the species is italicized but not capitalized: Tursiops truncatus)

 

-methods: how did you address your question

            schematic and/or photos of methods

            WHAT WERE YOUR TREATMENTS (independent variables)

            WHAT DID YOU MEASURE (dependent variables)

 

-results

            graphs and /or tables (explain axes)

 

-conclusions

            what do your results mean?

            (-bullets are ok)

            Return to your original question

            If appropriate, include a do next

 

DO NOT APOLOGIZE FOR YOUR EXPERIMENTS

DO NOT HAVE YOUR VOICE GO UP AT THE END OF A SENTENCE

TRY NOT TO USE FILLER WORDS (like, um, ya know)
