Volunteer Opportunites

Bennington has an agreement with Southwestern Vermont Medical Center that allows students to shadow willing physicians in their offices and in the hospital. Students can choose what specialty they would like to focus on or they can observe different areas.

Other opportunities for community service exist. Students in the past have volunteered in the following areas:

  • PAVE: Battered Women's Hotline
  • Quantum Leap: A Bennington Program that provides mentors for high school students who are at risk.
  • Bennington College Health Committee
  • Shadowing local physicians
  • Hospice
  • Homeless Shelter

 

  

Southwest Vermont Medical Center, with whom Bennington College has an agreement that faciltates student volunteering, is just one of the many possible organizations to which Post-Bac students can donate their time.
