Former Bennington Post-Bac, Meghan Eddy (right) and her Spanish language tutor, Patty, often had their lessons on the roof of the Pop Wuj Spanish School in Guatemala where they had a great view of the city of Xela as well as several nearby active volcanoes. Pop Wuj offered an extensive medical program with a focus on medical Spanish, the current national healthcare system, cultural beliefs concerning medicine, and it included volunteer opportunities with local clinics and midwives.
